  • Information you submit: When you contact us through our website forms, we may collect your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address, highest qualification, desired course, and any message or question you provide.
  • Application and identity documents: During counselling, eligibility review, admission processing, visa preparation, or university application support, we may collect copies of documents such as NID, birth certificate, passport, photographs, SSC/HSC marksheets and certificates, bachelor's or master's marksheets and certificates, admission letters, payment slips, and other documents required by a university, authority, or service provider.
  • Technical information: Like most websites, we may receive limited technical data such as browser type, device information, IP address, and referral or visit details needed for security, hosting, or performance monitoring.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide admissions counselling or university guidance.
  • To contact you about programs, scholarships, eligibility, documents, and next steps you request from us.
  • To use your contact details, enquiry details, education background, application status, and interaction history for marketing, promotional communication, follow-up campaigns, student recruitment, remarketing, and service improvement by Western Bangla Education.
  • To submit, verify, or process your application with partner universities and relevant admission, hostel, visa, travel, or student-support departments.
  • To maintain internal records of enquiries and improve how we support students and families.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory, or security obligations when required.

3. Form Processing and Third-Party Services

  • Our website enquiry forms are processed using Web3Forms, a third-party form delivery service that securely transmits your submission to our email inbox.
  • When you submit a form, the information you enter is sent to Web3Forms so that your enquiry can be delivered to Western Bangla Education.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic sources, page engagement, internal navigation, CTA interactions, and lead form performance in aggregate.
  • Google Analytics measurement is activated only after you grant analytics consent through our on-site prompt. If you decline, analytics events are not sent from your browser.
  • We may also rely on standard hosting, DNS, and security providers to operate the website safely and reliably.

4. Data Sharing

  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
  • By submitting your information or documents to WBE, you authorize us to share your personal details and documents with partner universities and their authorized admissions, scholarship, hostel, finance, compliance, verification, and international-student teams when needed for counselling, eligibility assessment, admission processing, scholarship review, enrolment, or related student services.
  • Documents shared with partner universities may include ID documents, passport, marksheets, certificates, photographs, payment records, admission forms, and any other documents required for your application or enrolment.
  • We may share information with trusted service providers only when they help us deliver website, communication, or enquiry-processing services.
  • We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or to protect our rights and users.

5. Cookies and Website Technologies

  • Our website may use essential technologies needed for site functionality, performance, or anti-spam protection.
  • Analytics technologies, including Google Analytics, may set cookies or collect similar usage signals to measure visits, traffic sources, CTA clicks, internal link engagement, and form conversions after consent is granted.

WBE Study Abroad Toolkit ("the extension") is a free, offline browser extension for organizing study abroad research. This section explains how the extension handles your data.

Your data stays on your device. No login. No tracking. No cloud storage. Western Bangla Education does not collect, receive, or have access to any data you enter into the extension.

What data the extension stores

The extension stores only the information you choose to enter:

  • Universities (name, country, course, status, notes)
  • Saved links (title, URL, category, tags, notes, saved date)
  • Documents (name, completion status, notes)
  • Deadlines (task, date, notes, and the university or document it is attached to)
  • Personal notes (title, content)

Where your data is stored

All data is stored locally on your device using the browser's chrome.storage.local API. It is never transmitted to any server and is not synced to the cloud by the extension.

Data we collect

None. The extension has no backend, no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising. We do not collect personal information, browsing history, or usage data.

How the current page is used

When you click Save Current Page, the extension reads only the title and URL of the active tab, and only at that moment, so it can save that page into your research. It does not read page contents or monitor your browsing.

Permissions

  • activeTab / tabs — read the current tab's title and URL when you click "Save Current Page".
  • sidePanel — display the extension in the browser side panel.

Sharing and selling data

We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to share.

Backups

The Export feature creates a JSON file saved to your own device. You control that file entirely. Importing a file restores data locally. These backups are never uploaded anywhere by the extension.

Data deletion

You can delete your data at any time by removing items in the extension or by uninstalling the extension, which clears its local storage.

Children's privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
